Precise measuring technology with 3D scanning and coordinate measurement

For quality control and development work, KEYENCE measurement technology is unlocking new possibilities in our company. With our 3D scanning and coordinate measuring device, we capture components with high precision and compare them directly with the target data.

In this process, dimensions, flatness, wall thicknesses, or form deviations, among other things, can be reliably analyzed and documented. This allows quality requirements to be checked at an early stage and production processes to be targetedly optimized.

Furthermore, we also use scanning technology in the field of reverse engineering: spare parts or existing components can be digitized and prepared as a basis for 3D printing.

With modern measurement technology, we create the basis for precise results, fast development processes, and flexible solutions.

Better handling: New pourers for canisters

In a multi-stage development project, we designed and optimized a new pourer for canisters. The goal was to generate a controlled airflow when turning the canisters upside down to reliably prevent vacuum and the typical "gurgling".

In total, about 20 different variants were developed, tested, and further improved. The precise coordination of geometry and airflow was crucial to ensure an even liquid flow.

The result is convincing:
Compared to standard pourers, we were able to reduce the decanting time by up to 40%.

For KTR GmbH, this confirms once again: Through consistent development work and practical tests, functionality and user comfort can be significantly increased.

Sustainable materials in focus: Our tests with natural fiber and bioplastics

As early as 2019, we intensively explored the use of natural fiber and bioplastics and conducted extensive sampling with various materials.

The focus was on different types of plastic containing natural fibers, their processability in injection molding, as well as surface quality, stability, and tool behavior. The results showed: Sustainable materials are technically feasible but place special demands on process control and material handling.

Since these initial test series, we have been continuously developing the topic. We are testing new material generations, optimizing parameters, and observing the progress in the field of bioplastics very closely.

For KTR GmbH, it is clear: Sustainable materials will play an important role in plastics processing in the long term. Through our early tests and ongoing development, we are creating the basis to implement future customer requirements flexibly and responsibly.

We are staying on it – and will report on further developments.

Welcome to the team: Dominik Krischke takes over quality topics

We are pleased to welcome a new colleague to our team: Dominik Krischke is strengthening our company effective immediately and is taking responsibility for all quality topics in our house.

With his focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement, Mr. Krischke will contribute significantly to further developing and sustainably securing our high standards. We are convinced that his expertise is a valuable enrichment for our team and our processes.

Welcome – we look forward to the cooperation!

Anniversary cup made of PETG – robust, high-quality, individual

To mark our company anniversary, we have developed our own schnapps cup made of PETG. The result is a compact, particularly stable cup that feels high-quality in the hand due to its thick walls.

The cup is unbreakable and dishwasher-safe – ideal for events, parties, or long-term use in catering and the event sector.

In addition to small quantities, we also offer the option of customization with a logo or text of your choice for larger volumes. Looking ahead, a combination with in-mold labeling (IML) is also conceivable to realize durable and high-quality decorations.

Interested? Please feel free to contact us – we will provide you with personal advice.

Successful sampling in the field of IM-Labeling

For us, innovation means testing new technologies at an early stage and specifically developing them further. In recent months, we have intensively studied the In-Mold Labeling (IML) process and conducted initial sampling and tests – with very positive results.

With IML, the label is inserted into the mold during the injection molding process and firmly bonded to the plastic. The tested components were particularly impressive due to their high-quality appearance, scratch resistance, and process stability.

The process is currently still in the evaluation phase at KTR. However, the successful tests form a promising basis for possible future investments.

We will keep you updated on further developments.

Generational change at KTR

After over 20 years at the helm of KTR GmbH, our company founder Thomas Ebertsch is saying goodbye to active management. He will remain with us as an advisory voice and contribute his experience to the further development of the company.

Felix Ebertsch, who has already been active in the management position in the company since 2022, now takes over the future design of KTR with passion, expertise, and new ideas.

As a family business, we continue to rely on what has always defined us in the next generation: close cooperation, reliability, and innovation. We look forward to this new chapter and to continuing to grow successfully together with our customers and partners.

20 years of KTR – an anniversary year full of highlights

2024 was a very special year for KTR GmbH Am Rennsteig – we were able to celebrate 20 years of company history !

At our traditional Christmas party at the Frankenwaldhütte Kleintettau, we

let our celebratory year come to a fitting end.

Among our employees, we sat together with a delicious roast buffet and good drinks and

reviewed our 20th anniversary.

Anniversary Summer Festival July 2024

In July 2024, we celebrated a summer party on the company premises in Spechtsbrunn together with our customers, suppliers, employees

and their families.

A successful day in the sunshine with company tours through our plant

and the offices.

There was also plenty on offer for the little ones. From the bouncy castle in the warehouse to

popcorn and the fleet of Bobby Cars, everything was there.

Everyone was able to end the evening with delicious food from Anno Domini and live music in the marquee.

Company outing to Wallenfels

In May 2024, our joint company excursion took us to Wallenfels.

There, we started with an exciting tour of the MalzSchmied brewery and then fortified ourselves

with a joint lunch at the mill.

The afternoon then continued actively: during a raft trip on the wild Rodach river, we experienced plenty of fun and team spirit.

We finally ended the successful day in a relaxed atmosphere at the Flößerhaus in Wallenfels together.
